Set in contemporary Dublin, Goldfish Memory follows an interconnected group of young adults as they navigate a tangled web of relationships—falling in love, breaking up, and starting over again and again.
As straight, gay, lesbian, and bisexual connections overlap and collide, the film explores the impulsive nature of modern dating, where desire often outweighs reflection. Like the myth that goldfish only remember for a few seconds, the characters repeatedly dive into new romances, seemingly forgetting the pain of the last.
Through a fast-moving, ensemble-driven story, the film captures the humor, chaos, and emotional confusion of searching for love—and the question of whether we ever truly learn from our past relationships. (dir. Liz Gill, 2003, Ireland)
