We begin with Becca finishing her run as “Monica” in I’ll Be There For You, a Broadway musical with a very…familiar setting. She announces that she’s leaving New York for her hometown of Evergreen, Tennessee for the holidays. Her mother Tilly (Hayat Nesheiwat) is ecstatic, as are Becca’s younger brother Jack (Jon Lee) and family friend Lucille Sheridan (Janet Ivey). Less ecstatic? Becca’s childhood friend and high school sweetheart Sam, who’s carved out a peaceful life for themself as the bartender at their family bar, Sheridan’s. (dir. Christin Baker, US, 2022)
